Greetings,

First: Installing
I am sort of new to Linux and to changing Window Managers,
but I have succesfully been able to get Blackbox up and
running on RH 7.2 with Gnome. I've got to tell you, BLAZING
speed!!! This is one quick Window Manager. I was also able
to compile and install bbconf, but with a little work. I
don't know if it is RH or what, but I had to use the
following configure statement in order for it to work:
./configure --with-qt-dir=/usr/lib/qt-2.3.1
This is just a little FYI for those of you that haven't had
any luck with bbconf, I had to use the above command. I was
able to also install bbkeys, with no problems, and it is
working fine. Thx bbtools!

Second: Menu
By default Gnome used sawfish as the wm, and relied heavily
on the Panel (the toolbar/taskbar/whatever, that I see
people keep asking for in BB). Well, in trying to bring
over my old programs menu to the BB, I read somewhere in one
of these posts, that if you want the panel back, just launch
it....duh! So, I'm doing that with no problems, for now and
until I have succesfully recreated the menu. But I may keep
it until someone tells me how I can bring up the BB menu
with a key command. I like being able to hit "Ctlr+Esc" to
bring up the panel's menu, but would rather used BB's menu.
No biggie though, the panel is working just fine for now.

Third: Icons
Don't know if I forgot something, or if there is something
extra I need to install, but when I minimize my
applications, they go bye bye. I can't find them anymore,
anywhere. I have to right click and bring up the menu ->
goto "Workspace List" -> goto "Icons" and I see them listed
there. But shouldn't I see them on the desktop somewhere?

Fourth: the blackboxrc file
I am trying to rename the workspaces, and when I edit this
file, and log out and back in, my settings are gone. Some
settings will hold, just not for the workspaces. Any idea
why?

I guess that is enough for now. I'm just getting started,
so expect to hear alot more questions from me ;-)

TIA for those that respond.
