I have the same problem.. Every time I append something to my txt-file
that contains the letters å, ä or ö the charset changes from UTF-8 or
ISO-8859-1 to MacRoman. And then all other åäö:s in the document turns
into different characters.

I'm running OSX 10.5.2 on a MacBook Pro. I use english menus and a
swedish dictionary.
