Hm.  That sequence works flawlessly for me.  So here is my
suggestion:

Go to the Plug-ins pane in QS's preferences, select the Address Book
plug-in, Apple Mail plug-in, and Email Support plug-in.  Then choose
Delete Selected Plug-ins from the gear menu at the bottom of the
window.  Then, just for good measure, restart QS.  Now open the Plug-
ins pane again and reinstall those plug-ins.

It might help.
