I believe that between any two volumes, Move to... does a copy, just
like dragging in the Finder between volumes does a copy by default.
Delays like you describe are usually because:
1. You have the TextMate Ranker installed. It does screw up the 3rd
pane for say Open With...
2. You have a very large catalog and it takes QS time to build the 3rd
pane results list.
