Well, yes, I'd tried that yesterday and no matter how many times I
clicked on the refresh icon, quicksilver would not index it. The
problem could have been that I was trying to place in the catalog the
root directory for all my projects (which is one level below my home
directory) which I'm guessing holds tens of thousands of files
including all the subversions trunks and branches I'm working on.
Today, I decided to give quicksilver a break and only put my target
directories in the catalog which were indexed immediately when I
clicked the refresh icon. Now I know not to put too much pressure on
Quicksilver, which doesn't seem to be the workhorse that google
desktop is.
