You make a valid point. How do you feel about the apple logos all over
your OS? a necessary evil?
Is there a fundamental difference between an advertising driven
company and a sales driven company?

If it really is the branding that bothers you, it looks like you could
use the open source version. The logos are more generic.
 ;) (or LaunchBar—as you mentioned—they are definitely worth
supporting)
