To get QS to treat text as text, bring up the Quicksilver interface, and type period (or an equals sign if you want to enter an equation to be calculated). You can then use the "Large Type" command or download Growl and create an action to display a Growl message.

Growl is a free application that displays notifications from applications (for example, it can tell you what song is playing in iTunes). There are scripts that you can put in the QS Actions folder to create commands that will display your text as a Growl notice. You can find two at:

I don't know if this is what you mean, but you can use the Google Search bookmark (http://www.google.com/search?q=***) and the Web Search Module to enter a search which then comes up in your browser window.

Hey

I want to try to type text in QS and have it expand on the screen.
Unfortunately, QS always interprets my text as a file or data of some
sort. Can I force it to only accept the text I enter?

How do I search the internet w/o using sherlock and that pesky apple
script. I want to search the internet directly.
