QS does not narrow its results by kind in this way. QS is the tool to use when you need to get a particular item and do something to it quickly and easily.
For the kind of task you are trying to do—simply finding all items that meet certain criteria—Spotlight is the proper tool. To run a Spotlight search that finds all folders with "foo" in their names, type "foo kind:folder" (without quotes) into Spotlight.
