Another approach: I created a 512 MB sparse bundle (using Disk Utility) to keep 
various versions of Quicksilver, preferences, Application Support, etc. backed 
up. It’s unmounted most of the time, which keeps them hidden from Launch 
Services, but it’s much easier to deal with when I want to add things to it or 
pull things out.
