It's on my todo list for 2010 - look into the clipboard and overhaul it, but
the first part of '10 is now booked up for me so it's gonna be a long time
:(

My solution was to drag the clipboard window to the side of the screen, so
that is slides away (try it and you'll see)
>From there, you can get it to pop up using the usual triggers, or mouse over
that area on the screen (similar to OS X's hot corners)

It solved the problem for me, and hopefully it will for you.
