I'm having a similar problem. Sometimes QS will launch when I press command + space, but then it will be frozen for about 20 seconds or so. I'm not 100% sure but I think it's because some of my disks are sleeping. Is it possible?
In my macbook this problem doesn't happen, only on my mac pro.
