I'm having a similar problem.

Sometimes QS will launch when I press command + space, but then it
will be frozen for about 20 seconds or so. I'm not 100% sure but I
think it's because some of my disks are sleeping. Is it possible?

In my macbook this problem doesn't happen, only on my mac pro.

BTW those folders do not even weight 5MB
