Thanks for your reply, Patrick. Both points you've mentioned look the
way they should: Finder is set as the default file system handler and
there is only one "Open" action. I did find a clue however: In ~/
Library/Application Support/Quicksilver/Actions.plist there is a
passage that looks like this:

        <key>actionIndirects</key>
        <dict>
                <key>FileAlwaysOpenTypeWithAction</key>
                <array>
                        <string>/Applications/VLC.app</string>
                </array>

If it is reflected somewhere in the preferences dialog, i could
perhaps change it to Finder or something else. What is the default
value for this setting?
