Why don't you just skip the middle man here (shortmarks.com) and use
the Web Search Plugin?

Then, you can just (for instance) type "g" [tab] "what you want to
search in google", instead of "shortmarks" [tab] "g bla".

This has the added advantage of not depending on a web service.
