Apologies if you've already answered this question, but is Quicksilver
installed in a location that requires admin rights to access (e.g. your
/Applications folder)?
This is a known issue, which we hope to fix soon.

For those interested, I am keen to use fragments of the Sparkle updater
(used in a large portion of Mac apps) which should improve the updater
substantially.
At the moment, we are working hard moving Quicksilver over to 64 bit, so we
do not have a timeframe for when this will be completed.
