Great that you've given us some insight into this problem Phil, I've tried to reproduce your problem, but I can't seem to reproduce. For me, if I → into 'Applications (Catalog)' (I have to enable the 'Quicksilver Catalog Entires' option in the catalog prefs), I get the contents of the catalog entry, as would be expected. No 'xxx (Catalog)' items there.
