I forgot to mention that they are BOTH hanging and my quick fix is to force quit Quicksilver (using activity monitor) after which mail takes another couple of seconds to regain its sanity.
so they both end up beach balling when i launch mail with QS running. this has to be outside the Mail plugin that has been disabled. anything else i can try?
