I did some testing with this, assigning the script to ⇧F6 with “On Release”. It 
ran no matter which of the keys I released, but it only worked as expected if I 
released ⇧ first, then F6. I assume it’s the same sort of problem: If you don’t 
let go of ⇧ while it runs, it looks like ⇧⌘V instead of ⌘V.

Seems like there should be a way to paste without faking the keystroke, but 
AppleScript isn’t my thing.

You could also create a trigger for

    date +%Y%m%d ⇥ Run Command in Shell

but that puts the result into Quicksilver, not your current application, so 
pasting it or using “Type Text” would be an extra step.
