The Gmail plugin gets its contacts from Address Book/Contacts (like all email plugins in Quicksilver), so make sure you have that plugin installed in the Plugins prefs <http://qs.qsapp.com/plugins> and that the 'Contacts' entry is enabled in the Catalog prefs <http://qs.qsapp.com/catalog>
