I note in the thread you referenced that the 90 second rule still exists, ( http://discussions.agilebits.com/discussion/comment/80442/#Comment_80442), it's used by Finder and that in http://discussions.agilebits.com/discussion/comment/80412/#Comment_80412 agile suggests that the application could capture all clipboard data regardless of its transient nature.
Obviously it's your decision as to how you code QS but it should be the user who decides and the app should provide preferences.
