I think that would allow some of us to make more robust (applescript) 
actions which would never make it into the code for whatever reason and 
thereby filling some requests — or at least, trying to…:)

I guess you could add 'custom third pane items in AppleScript' and 'get 
catalog AppleScript command' to the tracker as feature requests.
