I haven't tried it yet and I couldn't find any details nor issues in
the tracker. Does it still work?
Yes, and it’s even been enhanced slightly in the past year or so. The
internal Core Support and Finder plug-ins are using it for a few things
right now, so you can check there for examples. Search the property
lists for “QSDefaultsObjectSource”.
