What do you mean by “nothing selected”? Nothing playing, or
nothing
highlighted in the UI? Either way, I wasn’t able to crash it.
The trigger crashes QS whenever a non-Library item is played or paused
(e.g. from iTunes Store)
Like when previewing a track? I get an [expected] error in the Console,
but no crash.
iTunes Communication Error: The operation couldn’t be completed.
(OSStatus error -1728.)
or when Library items aren't played or paused.
So there’s no blue speaker next to anything and hitting ⌘L just
beeps? In that state, I get the same error as above on the Console. No
crash.
