i think i get it but still without any solution.
it is really an "unsupported architecture" issue of some kind and it must
be related to the fact that this machine has a 32bit processor (intel "core
duo").
i'm guessing so because on a nearly identical setup (my macbook with the
same OS version, same QS version and same plugins version) everything works
fine, but there's a small "architecture" difference between those machines,
my macbook is an intel "core 2 duo".

so, considering this, what should i do now?

i think the downgrade option still the best bet to count on.
