Note that you can also limit the trigger so it only runs when a specific volume is mounted, and you can limit the rescan to it only checks that volume instead of everything (by making the trigger do “XYZ (Catalog) ⇥ Rescan Catalog Entry”). You’ll need to enable the “Quicksilver Catalog Entries” preset under Preferences → Catalog → Quicksilver.

You might want to make a trigger for when the volume is unmounted too, so the missing files will get cleaned out immediately.
