For the Quicksilver + Firefox problem: I don't find anything unusual

Firefox Preferences / Applications. Mostly "Always ask" and that does

four .dmg files are mounted when a Firefox download is starting. I've
never
encountered anything like this before. To me it seems like QuickSilver
is
somehow triggered by the Firefox download and then the .dmg files are
mounted. I have no other explanation at this point. I do not know how
to
debug this.
Quicksilver has an Event Triggers plug-in. Firefox downloading things
isn’t one of the events you can fire off of, but mounting a disk is.
Maybe one is getting mounted, triggering the other three to get mounted
as well? Seems really unlikely, but you might want to check the list in
Preferences → Triggers → Custom and make sure there’s nothing you
don’t expect to see.
