You might not need a trigger for this.

One of my most common uses of QS is to activate it, type in just enough to
bring up a contact in the first pane, and then hit return to “Compose E-mail”.
It’s my default action for contacts so this is very fast and because my
contacts have photos and QS understands nicknames, I can find my recipient
quickly and rarely make mistakes (e.g., emailing the wrong Mike). If the email
is to several people I use the comma trick.

If Compose E-mail isn’t the default action for contacts you can make it so by
opening the Actions preferences and dragging Compose E-mail higher up. Or after
typing the contact, while the first pane is still selected, you can probably
hit Command-Shift-C to run the action if it’s the highest ranked action
beginning with C (Copy to Clipboard might be higher and as above you can rank
them however you want).

So via my method depending how you think of it, it's what you want: Instead of
a hotkey trigger, you just activate QS as you normally do (and can save a
hotkey sequence) and start entering the contact (as you would in the 2nd pane)
and hit return (or Cmd-Shift-C in lieu of return).
