At the recommendation of this board I installed QS version 1.2.0
(400F) on
my MB Air running 10.7.5. I've had increasingly frequent periods of
complete unresponsiveness since then. I have uploaded some text files
generated by "Sample Process" on the Activity Monitor in case anyone
could
see how this might be fixed. I don't believe these periods occur due
to
Quicksilver being busy cataloguing, because I have set it to only
catalogue
entries once a day, and the unresponsive periods happen many times a
day.
In the second and third files, I see numerous calls to `FSMount`. I
don’t know for sure, as I don’t examine deep stack traces that
often, but I don’t think this is normal behavior for most files. I
suspect Quicksilver has a reference to a file somewhere that’s on an
external disk that isn’t currently mounted. Even if it eventually
becomes available, mounting disks is slow work. And if not, it could
wait many seconds before giving up.
Versions prior to 1.2.0 didn’t have this problem, given the same list
of files, so it’s clearly not your fault. But you might be able to
eliminate the problem in the short term by tracking down and removing
these files.

Here are three files--I have several more if that would be helpful. I
uploaded them to an anonymous host. If there is a better way of
sharing them please let me know.
That’s a good way to share them. Thanks.
