If the third pane is freezing check if you have network drives mounted. 
Certainly using Move to... and Open with... can slow down a lot if it has to 
mount or search for or in network drives. I'm not sure if Find with... does 
this (it doesn't seem like it would need to) but it's worth checking.

I too create my own web search list. Maybe it's trying to get the remote list 
and is having some network issues getting to the site.
