For the first time ever, my Macbook Pro (El Capitan and the latest version of Quicksilver) reports that QS is using significant energy. The only other

Anyone else experience this, or have advice?

I’ve never seen Quicksilver on that list myself, but it’s almost certainly related to catalog scanning in the background. The first thing I’d do is go to Preferences → Catalog and disable anything you aren’t using.
