You know what?, I've just realised something... if the non-retina screen is the 
one in focus when I launch QS after a crash it behaves properly on both 
screens.  If I launch it when the iMac / retina screen is in focus, it crashes 
every time I invoke it on the non-retina screen.  100% reproducible.
