The actual files cataloged will probably differ to some (perhaps a large some) extent between machines, but I think there's a lot that won't. Looking through the 4 config sections in the QS window on two of my machines, about 99% are the same, and the differences are things that have just kind of floated out of sync and probably should be the same, or the number of items in each Source in the Catalog tab, which I'd expect to be different. So I think syncing via iCloud at least would be useful, although it's definitely a "nice to have", QS is fine without it, but I would find it handy.
