I agree, the other two should begin "Required if" instead of "Optional."
 I'll fix those right away.  The first one, I liked as was, however, if
it seemed confusing to you, then less seasoned users will certainly have
a problem with it.  It is a required patch, no explanation is necessary
in the book.  It should be sufficient to say 'Required patch:" and let
users read the patch header if they wish to know more.  I'll go ahead
and do that, if you see fit to make a more defined change, please feel
free to change it or post to the list and I'll do it.  The optional
download should also be listed as "Required if..."
