Hi: I have created a small package that for lack of a better name I called distro-tools. The package includes some scripts that I find useful when researching how the mainstream distros build a certain package. It is available at <http://linuxfromscratch.org/~tushar/downloads/>. It includes tools for the following package formats: * Debian: - debx: tool to extract files from a deb * Gentoo: - gentooupdate: tool to create/update the local ebuild archive - gentoopkg: find a package that matches the given string - gentoodepend: find a package that matches the given build * RPM: - rpmx: tool to extract files from a rpm
