You would not have seen this issue with 2.6.19. There is a brand new
program named runtest (created from runtest.c) in the package (the
program is not installed, it is only used by non-Linux platform to
run the regression tests)
If you have a spare moment, please download 2.6.20 and run configure
and make. No need to install, if my hunch is correct, it will fail
during the make.
I did as you asked and it seems to have built fine. make ended like this
cat ./libxml.py libxml2class.py > libxml2.py
make[3]: Leaving directory `/sources/libxml2-2.6.20/python'
Making all in tests
make[3]: Entering directory `/sources/libxml2-2.6.20/python/tests'
make[3]: Nothing to be done for `all'.
make[3]: Leaving directory `/sources/libxml2-2.6.20/python/tests'
make[2]: Leaving directory `/sources/libxml2-2.6.20/python'
make[1]: Leaving directory `/sources/libxml2-2.6.20'
root:/sources/libxml2-2.6.20#
Maybe I've done something else weird...
