About 1 hour and 15 minutes. It would had taken much longer if the Valgrind mechanism isn't broken. I am going to bed in a few minutes, I've patched the call to Valgrind and I'm going to let it run. If I remember correctly (and from the SBU times shown in the book that I put there last time it ran), it will take about 3 hours and 20 minutes or so to run using Valgrind. Ridiculous. Interesting is these entries in the kernel.log from the last time it ran (not using Valgrind): [EMAIL PROTECTED]: ~/build > tail -30 /var/log/kernel.log Aug 12 12:36:58 rmlinux kernel: sda: assuming drive cache: write through Aug 12 12:36:58 rmlinux kernel: sda: sda1 Aug 12 12:36:58 rmlinux kernel: Attached scsi removable disk sda at scsi0, channel 0, id 0, lun 0 Aug 12 12:36:58 rmlinux kernel: usb-storage: device scan complete Aug 12 13:26:13 rmlinux kernel: usbcore: deregistering driver usb-storage Aug 12 13:26:27 rmlinux kernel: usb 2-1.1: USB disconnect, address 5 Aug 14 20:56:42 rmlinux kernel: oom-killer: gfp_mask=0x1d2 Aug 14 20:56:44 rmlinux kernel: DMA per-cpu: Aug 14 20:56:44 rmlinux kernel: cpu 0 hot: low 2, high 6, batch 1 Aug 14 20:56:44 rmlinux kernel: cpu 0 cold: low 0, high 2, batch 1 Aug 14 20:56:44 rmlinux kernel: Normal per-cpu: Aug 14 20:56:44 rmlinux kernel: cpu 0 hot: low 62, high 186, batch 31 Aug 14 20:56:44 rmlinux kernel: cpu 0 cold: low 0, high 62, batch 31 Aug 14 20:56:44 rmlinux kernel: HighMem per-cpu: empty Aug 14 20:56:44 rmlinux kernel: Aug 14 20:56:44 rmlinux kernel: Free pages: 6428kB (0kB HighMem) Aug 14 20:56:44 rmlinux kernel: Active:91874 inactive:91698 dirty:0 writeback:0 unstable:0 free:1607 slab:5462 mapped:182818 pagetables:1479 Aug 14 20:56:44 rmlinux kernel: DMA free:3076kB min:72kB low:88kB high:108kB active:3740kB inactive:3540kB present:16384kB pages_scanned:8608 all_unreclaimable? yes Aug 14 20:56:44 rmlinux kernel: lowmem_reserve[]: 0 751 751 Aug 14 20:56:44 rmlinux kernel: Normal free:3352kB min:3468kB low:4332kB high:5200kB active:363756kB inactive:363252kB present:769984kB pages_scanned:828371 all_unreclaimable? yes Aug 14 20:56:44 rmlinux kernel: lowmem_reserve[]: 0 0 0 Aug 14 20:56:44 rmlinux kernel: HighMem free:0kB min:128kB low:160kB high:192kB active:0kB inactive:0kB present:0kB pages_scanned:0 all_unreclaimable? no Aug 14 20:56:44 rmlinux kernel: lowmem_reserve[]: 0 0 0 Aug 14 20:56:44 rmlinux kernel: DMA: 5*4kB 2*8kB 4*16kB 1*32kB 0*64kB 1*128kB 1*256kB 1*512kB 0*1024kB 1*2048kB 0*4096kB = 3076kB Aug 14 20:56:44 rmlinux kernel: Normal: 0*4kB 11*8kB 6*16kB 23*32kB 6*64kB 0*128kB 0*256kB 0*512kB 0*1024kB 1*2048kB 0*4096kB = 3352kB Aug 14 20:56:44 rmlinux kernel: HighMem: empty Aug 14 20:56:44 rmlinux kernel: Swap cache: add 463911, delete 463911, find 36065/43244, race 1+0 Aug 14 20:56:44 rmlinux kernel: Free swap = 0kB Aug 14 20:56:44 rmlinux kernel: Total swap = 1461904kB Aug 14 20:56:44 rmlinux kernel: Out of Memory: Killed process 20797 (cupsd). -- Randy rmlscsi: [GNU ld version 2.15.94.0.2 20041220] [gcc (GCC) 3.4.3] [GNU C Library stable release version 2.3.4] [Linux 2.6.10 i686] 22:14:01 up 134 days, 21:47, 3 users, load average: 1.08, 0.96, 0.62 -- http://linuxfromscratch.org/mailman/listinfo/blfs-dev FAQ: http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/blfs/faq.html Unsubscribe: See the above information page
