If Mozilla are using old versions of these libraries perhaps they have a
reason? Perhaps the versions in the mozilla code have been more thoroughly
tested with the mozilla build. Perhaps the versions installed on a BLFS system
introduce unexpected bugs when they are included in the Mozilla build system.
Why take the risk? What is the advantage?

or have vulnerabilities.

Surely the people who are in a position to judge are the Mozilla developers? They're the ones who are more familiar with the Mozilla code.
There are a lot more people using and testing Firefox than there are people
building BLFS

It is
best to use the ones on your system, as they should be up to date and
include security patches or updated versions.

But will they work best when included in a Mozilla build? Why deviate from the
default options without good evidence? Why take the chance?
