Editors are selected based on demonstrated judgement as seen from posts and contributions. New editors are always a bit tentative. After a while, they develop a sense of what is acceptable and what is not. Even then, some issues will arise. There will always be some differences of opinion. I don't see that as a negative. If editors are unsure, then they should ask other opinions. If they think they are doing the right thing, then they should do what they think is appropriate.
