Of course. I think in the original thread we said we didn't want to make it a rule for everyone. But a sed that accompanies explanatory text would be very helpful. Btw, I could be wrong, but I think the window manager or desktop suite has nothing to do with this particular item. This is an internal *thunderbird* issue. Thunderbird doesn't know how to handle http or ftp protocol links unless you tell it where to look.
