You do not grasp the situation. We know that HAL will make an fstab entry when the daemon loads. And we accept that. If what you need to make things right in all pluggable stuff must have iocharset setting then make it to fstab. We did it before, we can do it again. I will post a snippet that does it, I just want to get this mail on the road before I lose you for 10-12 hours again. What is new, is that HAL, *at mount time* can pass parameters to the mount command. This is what we want. When the floppy is *mounted* it reads the stuff in fstab *and than adds more* stuff from further HAL rules specific to the type of filesystem being mounted. Isn't the concept clear? It is crystal to me. And it works. We just have to iron out the specific filesystem details. -- Randy rmlscsi: [GNU ld version 2.15.94.0.2 20041220] [gcc (GCC) 3.4.3] [GNU C Library stable release version 2.3.4] [Linux 2.6.10 i686] 00:22:00 up 100 days, 9:46, 3 users, load average: 1.38, 1.14, 0.86 -- http://linuxfromscratch.org/mailman/listinfo/blfs-dev FAQ: http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/blfs/faq.html Unsubscribe: See the above information page
