It is not recommended any longer. As of today. I changed this
*before this thread*, as I realized it was wrong. I put it in
there, and realizing it was wrong, I removed it.

It is listed as recommended. Which means the BLFS team expects it
to be installed. Technically, I believe you can install without it.

What is your point? Technically, it would be inaccurate to say it
was required.

Not any more. You'll need to use different packages as the
foundation of your argument.

You are dwelling on *a mistake* made by an editor. That editor was
me. I'm sorry it caused you so much pain. I fixed it today. Too bad
you couldn't have provided some insight *before* today, so that it
could have been fixed sooner.
