I thought the UK was expensive!
My ISP (who is by no means the cheapest - but has reasonable technical
competence and low contention) charges me ~ GBP £25/month for 1Mbps dl
and 256K upload with no restrictions + I get 50M of web space lots of
email accounts etc etc etc...
