BTW, if you look at GNU Hurd, you'll see that this problem is completely moot for this OS: /usr is a symlink to / And I don't really know how to cleanly upgrade software on machines that have /usr on network and / on a local filesystem (nfs-root clients are _much_ easier). So, new option: c) state clearly in LFS that /usr and /var on network are not supported. -- Alexander E.
