 During my nfs-client monologue, I determined that portmap doesn't
work when libtirpc is used.  Rpcbind does, so is required (I also
suggested that perhaps portmap should stay in the book for a
transitional period because it worked when glibc provided the rpc
code).

 Of course, YMMV.
