So we need to add two additional libraries if we're going to add mupdf:
-OpenJPEG
-jbig2dec
OpenJPEG is a recommended dep. for Poppler, so it should be in the book anyways.
Jbig2dec is a decoder for JBIG2 compressed images. It's currently in alpha
stage, so
don't know about this one. Anyone know how widespread the use of this
compression method
is?

ePDFView is already in the book.
To accommodate X-only people we should have either xpdf or mupdf.
If mupdf is the better viewer, I'm in favor of dropping xpdf and adding mupdf,
despite
it dragging in extra dependencies.
