Looks like this has been fixed upstream, but may require a backport. 
When was the current version of LibreOffice released? You can try to get 
rid of the bytecode check in configure.ac, and then do ./autogen.sh and 
see if it works, but if it was released before February, then you will 
need the hsqldb changes also mentioned here.
