Thanks for the link, DJ. Unfortunately, didn't solve the issue.

Searching further, I noticed that PKGBUILD in ArchLinux has the switch
--with-java-target-version=1.5 and with it, autogen.sh runs correctly.

At the moment, started building libreoffice-3.5.4.2 with-java in two other
machines.
