I read through the thread on the development.  Most of it seems to be 
about the ebuild stuff.  I think our method of a custom Makefile for the 
systemd sources is easier than what they are doing.

I do agree with the general sentiments about systemd though.

There was one interesting post where the person was amazed by the boot 
time without an initrd.  :)
