And the message I searched for came from dbus-daemon. When I go back to that machine in a little while I'll check to see if the text is still present in the full-blfs dbus-daemon.
In my previous (systemd) build I booted sysv and used that until I had built firefox. Along the way I did a full dbus rebuild before I switched to using systemd.
