It would be a pleasure to merge this so improved text.
However, "numerous modules under ..." was introduced years ago, I think
by Ken, and has served as example to modifications I did in other pages.
OTOH, I have no strong feelings about this, so I could just merge, and
as packages are updated, remove in other pages.
But doing that, could upset somebody, so, I would like to hear if there
are objections for the modules removal.
Another option, we can from now on, have more opinions and decide the
way to go. Myself, I would do as you.
Today, I will merge, but insert the modules back, while waiting for replies.
We don't list internal libraries and executables in LFS either, so why
bother?
The only acceptable reason when to list them is when they are installed
in foreign package directory, ie GIO Modules, Nautilus Modules,
Perl/Python Modules, etc. But internal libraries installed in a
directory owned by package and executables in libexecdir and
/usr/lib/package directories, unless the latter have a manual page, are,
in my opinion, not worth mentioning.
I agree. Listing too much is not really helpful, especially when the
list is long. See, for instance alsa-lib, alsa-plugins, zsh, firefox, etc.
