I think it is safe to say that some how or other the samba developers
have managed to totally screw up the test suite.
I think that it is more than half the test suite that fails. At least
all of the 300+ on the quick test fail for me.
It seems to be some kind of permissions error. It may well be better
for this version at least to say that it does not have a working test
suite.
You can guarantee that there is going to be someone who will start
bleating about it not working otherwise.
I was thinking like that, when updating, so asked in the ticket.
However, we should perhaps wait a little. I think Pierre is trying to solve
this problem.
Huh ?
I am sorry to say that I am not. I had that question about openldap, because I
am building KDE, and ldap is needed.
What I am doing right now, is to try to build a whole BLFS, but testing _all_
the instructions, even those that are "optional". It takes a long time, so I
cannot help with updates (I may update gcc, swig, and openjdk if necessary).
Nice. Thanks for the effort.
Please, remember in particular samba test instructions, when you arrive
there.
Is it OK to wait for Pierre, Christopher, before we recommend not
running samba tests?
